Hurricane Debby: Florida-Live Oak and Old Town

There is just something very special about groups coming together and helping each other.  We see it every time we deploy to a disaster area.  This time was no different in deploying to Florida to feed those impacted by Hurricane Debby.  In the time that I was there in two locations: Live Oak and Old town, we brought love packed meals to 37,500 people in the community.  This was GREAT teamwork so please support each of them however you can.

What made this deployment extra special was the opportunity to work with the two BEST feeding organizations in the World: Operation BBQ Relief and Mercy Chefs.  Both have huge Servant Hearts and work to feed hurting people, bringing meals that matter and pack them with tons of Love.  When you add in United by BBQ, the Team is World class for sure.  Each organization is unique and powerful in their own way.

Mercy Chefs is a collection of world class talented chefs bringing pain staking, delicious meals that are Chef crafted from start to finish.  When cooking with them, there is a distinctive feel of being in a 5 Star restaurant kitchen making meals that matter and getting them out to the community.

Operation BBQ Relief brings the love and emotion of BBQ into the community.  OBR meals remind people that good things will come and you just need to hang on and get through each day.  Opening a box of love packed BBQ takes people back to happy times in the backyard with family and friends.  It’s a reminder that they are loved and OBR does an Amazing job bringing that message into the impacted communities.

And then, you have United by BBQ.  Just a little organization that partners up with the big boys when disasters strike outside their South Louisiana home base. UBB brings their gift of BBQ PitMaster skills when needed, where needed and Loves to be a part of the bigger, or more distant deployments.

All in all, these three organizations do amazing work and are worthy of your love and financial support.  God bless you through this hurricane season and our hope is that we are not engaged very much….. but it’s not looking that way.  Be prepared.  God bless ya’ll.
