Even though we were not "official", Hurricane Laura wreaked havok on South Louisiana and the people of Lake Charles LA were devastated. We partnered with Acadian Ambulance and served the first responders and local community for a week in late August. All told, we were able to serve just over 6,500 people. It took a team effort here at home and we thank the Ponchatoula PD, S&W Foods, Our Daily Bread food bank and all the volunteers that came out to help. It was a GREAT kick-off for our organization and showed us where we fit into the disaster response puzzle for those hurting from storms.
